List of publications, events, conferences, media mentions for the month of June 2021

June 2021 was a month of many beginnings and celebrations of important milestones in my creative writing journey.

As a recipient of a poet fellowship from MVICW ( Martha’s Vineyard Institute of Creative Writing), I was thrilled and excited to be part of the one-week virtual writer’s conference at the Martha Vineyard Institute of Creative writing Institute. Though the conference was virtual this year it did not dampen the creative enthusiasm of the community. It was a week filled to the brim of learning and making friends in the community. Also, my first edition of the CA-based Life and Legends Journal as an associate editor was launched on June 15, 2021. I am proud to curate the works of some of the brilliant writers in the community.

June also gave me the opportunity to be part of the United National Association (UNA-USA) by attending the “Week of Action”.

The major milestone which highlights June is the opening period of the advance-sales for my chapbook ” My Body Is Not an Apology” by the award-winning Finishing Line press. I am indebted to the support of the friends/mentor  in the community who gave their time and energy in reading my advance copy and shared their thoughts through the blurbs. I am excited to learn and grow this process of spreading word about my chapbook.

The other notable mentions in the month of June were the poetry published in the Tulsa Review, Poem of the week featured in the Life and Legends, Good Cop Bad Cop Anthology, and (International Writers Journal) IWJ. I was extremely elated to know that my first editor project “The Kali Project” anthology has been chosen as a finalist in the Indie Excellence Book Awards 2021.

I was also honored to be part of the poetry reading as a celebration of the 102 birthday celebration of Poet Walt Whitman by the Walt Whitman Birthplace Association.

June closed with me as featured poet for the One year anniversary of the Open Road Poetry ( an organization founded by JC Poet Laureate , Rescue Poetix, and Crystal Davis ) and Walk _bye ( founded by Catalina Arunguren)
