Tea leaves

Megha's World

marco-secchi-543132-unsplashThey say you can find

your destiny in the tea leaves

sticking at the bottom of the cup

encircling and leaving patterns

easy to deciphered and

making the patterns

that zig-zag mesh

resembling the events in your life

Marking your ups and downs

and earmarking

all the important events

which make them truly shine

It’s an art they say

pure talent

so sublime

I wonder

I gaze with a child like

my mouth agape in

and horror at the same time

How mere broken leaves

from a plant forgotten,

can seamlessly

narrate my story

when you so conveniently

ignore the scars the

time has left on mine.
