Lately, the discussion of Laurel vs Yanny on the internet had so much of
discussion and uproar about it that It has inspired me to write this poem.
Let me know your thoughts.
Difference of opinion
a matter for discussion
should open our closed thoughts
open new spaces to possibility
and should widen our perception
they should not be served as
gateways for our narrow
preconceived emotions
rather a vehicle
to carry those thoughts
to inception
those little tiny thoughts
translucent or may be opaque,
wandering in deep crevices of our
beautiful and resplendent minds
should be the food for thoughts
not our tricks for perception
Welcome the thoughts and varied opinions
be open to facts and to fictions
what relevant or what is not
should not hamper
your vision
I respect your views
and you are welcome too
Is this not the point of
living in an amicable society
the very essence
of our humble existence?

I’m a mother of a smart and energetic seven-year-old. I started expressing myself creatively since the last two years. Since then I have been continuously inspired by events in my life and around me which has helped me in penning my thoughts.
I’m an avid reader, loves to sing, an ardent lover of poetry and sometimes can scribble few lines too. Loves to dance in the rain, have an undying love for nature, can watch the beautiful sunset for hours. Love to kiss and hug my loved ones.
I have worked in the IT field for almost a decade as a manager, worked crazy hours and traveled around the world. In that busy schedule, I never got the time to creatively express my thoughts. Now every time I finish a poem, free verse anything it fills me with so much happiness and excitement and a feeling to have created something of my own. I’m planning to post at least one creation of mine weekly.
Lastly, a million thanks to all who visit, like or follow my tiny bits of creation.
Every time you do that, I get to know one more beautiful person in my life and get the chance to see their creation too.

Great piece on perception and variation thereof. It is so beautiful that we have these differences, and so much more so that we can and do share them…

Really hard to have a discussion with someone who believes in alternative facts. Or that something is a mulligan if done by someone you believe in. Stirring it up, My Lady? Ha. I hear Yanny?

I know! It just seems it is so hard these days to be able to have a civil discussion because of the reasons you mentioned, everyone holds to their beliefs without even being able to consider other ideas. I guess playing chess has helped me to always be able and wanting to see things from the other person’s perspective!

I liked the part about “those little tiny thoughts translucent or may be opaque”. I’ve had thoughts that were like that.

It’s a beautifully unique and unconventional poems, in some ways it melodic and rhythmic like a song. Thank you for enlightening me today.
