List of Publications/Events/Readings/Press Mentions in the month of December 2022 and January 2023

2022 ended on a sweet note with me receiving a mini-grant from the Kundiman as support towards my next full-length poetry manuscript in progress. The month’s highlight was the selection of my poem “ Moon and its scars” in the historic anthology “The Polaris Trilogy” to be sent to the moon in the year 2024 in collaboration with NASA/SpaceX. Thankful to Samuel Peralta and Joyce Brinkman for this honor.  

Some other notable publications included publications in the NYPL ezine launched by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, Anthologies “When Women Speak” curated by Ameerah Bilal, “Mosaic Poetic Musings” of AuthorsPress, “Vibrant Voices” by Sahitya Akademy, and the mention of “ The Kali Project” in the Journal of Commonwealth Literature.

I was also elated to see my poems translated into Italian by the France-based journal “Articoli Liberi”. Two of my poems were selected for translation in the beautifully curated journal. Since the release of my debut poetry collection last year, my featured poetry reading at “The Cultivating Voices”, was the last poetry reading of the year for my book tour. Extremely thankful to Sandy Yovanne for their support and encouragement. 

The year 2023 started on a good note as I was a featured poet for the Panorama International Literature Festival (PILF2023)  and with the nomination of my full length for the “Golden Book Awards”. My writing group “ Thursday Morning Poets” were also invited to perform at the 124th birthday bash celebration of Edgar Allan Poe in his last known home in the Bronx. The place is managed by the Bronx County Historical Society and we are extremely grateful to Roger McCormack for giving us the opportunity.

Notable publications in the month of January include the coveted Pratik’s Upcoming South Asia Special Double Issue curated by Yuyutsu Sharma, the Children’s Issue of SETU Magazine curated by Dr. Meenakshi Mohan, and the MoonArts Press annual Poetry Ink Anthology.
