I’m elated to share the news that my debut full-length poetry collection “My Body Lives Like a Threat” has been selected for the Indo-American Arts Council 2022 Literary Festival. The festival will be happening both virtually and in person. The in-person festival will happen in NYC on November 12 and 13, 2022.

Located in New York City, Indo-American Arts Council Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit arts organization passionately dedicated to promoting, showcasing, and building an awareness of arts and artists of Asian Indian heritage. The artistic focus is primarily on the performing arts besides the visual, literary, and folk arts. All donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowable by the law. The Festival’s last year panelists included luminaries Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen, Former COO and Chairperson of PepsiCo, Indra Nooyi, Sudha Murty, Kal Penn, Narayan Hegde, Kazim Ali, Rohan Chettri, Dr. Ravi Shankar, Usha Akella, Yuyutsu Sharma, Purvi Shah and many more. It’s an absolute honor and privilege to be part of such a coveted festival. I’m immensely thankful to Preeth Urs, The festival Director for the invitation and for selecting my book for the festival. I’m still waiting for the full lineup to be revealed. Always grateful to my publisher,. Edward Viduarre for his support and belief in my work and for making me part of the FlowerSong family.

Since the publication of my book in Jan 2022, it has been the recipient of the following awards/ nominations.

  1. Finalist in the 16th India Book Excellence Awards 2022
  2. Finalist in the New York Book Festival 2022
  3. Semi-finalist for the grant by the National League of American Pen Women
