I’m thrilled to be part of the book launch of the historic anthology ” Black Fire This Time” edited by Dr. Kim Mcmillon and co-edited by Kofi Antawi and published by Willow Books. The anthology celebrates the 60 years of the Black Arts Movement. It’s my absolute privilege and honor to share the space with Keisha Anderson, Raymond Nat Turner, Margaret Troupe, and Quincy Troupe.  The details of the in-person poetry reading are given below.

Copies of the book will be available as giveaways and Little City Books will also be selling copies of the book. The anthology features over 100 poets and writers on the theme “Black is Beautiful, Black is Powerful, Black is Home.”

Join us on Saturday, July 30 at 2 PM to celebrate the book launch of Dr. Kim McMillion’s new historical poetry anthology, Black Fire This Time.

Five local poets will read their published poems in the anthology as well as poems by other prominent African American poets such as Nikki Giovanni, Amiri Baraka, Gwendolyn Brooks, James Baldwin, etc. The local poets participating in person include Megha Sood (Jersey City), Keisha Anderson (NYC), and Raymond Nat Turner (Jersey City). Poets Quincy Troupe and Margaret Troupe from NYC will participate virtually.
