I‘m thrilled to share the news that my upcoming debut full length poetry collection “My Body Likes Like a Threat” by FlowerSong Press has been a Semifinalist for the “Shirley Holden Helberg Grant” offered by National League of American Pen Women. I also have been offered a membership for the same. Immensely thankful to Nancy Dafoe, Chair of “Letters” NLAPW for sponsoring my membership.

The National League of American Pen Women, Inc. (NLAPW) was founded in 1897 when women journalists were not permitted to join male-only professional organizations. The League became a professional organization for women writers, artists and composers, where they could be recognized for their talents. The notable members include Eleanor Roosevelt, Gladys Goldstein and many more.
We are proud of the NLAPW headquarters, The Pen Arts Building and Art Museum, and its place among other historic buildings in Dupont Circle, a popular tourist destination in Washington, D.C. You can learn more about the history here
