Poetry Reading at the Historic Nuyorican Cafe, NY for ” When Women Speak ” event on April 10,2021

Extremely honored and thrilled to be part of the When Women Speak 💋 event streamed from the historic and legendary Nuyorican Poets Cafe .It was an evening brimming with powerful, unfettered, and boisterous women sharing their truth. Sharing the space with such talented voices is the highlight of my creative writing journey
I’m thankful to Ameerah Shabazz-Bilal and Dr. Helena D. Lewis for giving us this platform and making this happen.
I read two of my poems “When Men Explain Me Things” and ” My Survival Story” from my upcoming chapbook ” My Body Is Not an Apology ” and the full length ” My Body Lives Like a Threat” at the time mark “46:42” and “1:37:14” respectively.
