Virtual Poetry reading at Elizabeth Youth Center Ensemble organized by Open Road Poetry

I’m really excited to share the details of my recent open mic at the Elizabeth Youth Centre open mi event organized by Open Road Poetry. The evening was filled to the brim with Poetry, Spoken Word, Lyricists, and Acoustic performances. Featuring Artists Rashad Wright, Jersey City Poet Laureate, and Talena Lachelle Queen, Paterson Poet Laureate. It was an absolute honor to share the space with the Poet Laureate of Jersey City and Paterson.

Here is the link to the zoom session. I’m reading my poem “A Nation in Chokehold” at the 24:15 time mark.

The Elizabeth Youth Theater Ensemble’s mission is centered upon strengthening the voices of young artists. Utilizing theater-arts based curricula, EYTE provides creative learning opportunities for inner-city youth where they gain confidence, communication skills, and self-awareness. EYE seeks to provide experiences that empower youth, developing theater as a powerful place for community building and social justice.

OpenRoad Poetry is a platform and community for poets and artists to network and shares their work. Located in Jersey City, the project is co-produced by Crystal Letters LLC and Rescue Poetix TM. Proceeds from ORP events are donated to benefit local venues & non-profit organizations. OpenRoad Poetry is a poetic road of limitless possibilities.

Happy Blogging!!
