Cascading truth

“A lie that is half-truth is the darkest of all lies.”
― Alfred Tennyson

Cascading truth
tucked and compressed
buried under the dearth of lies
And layers and layers of false
I couldn’t find my way out
through this pile

This swamp of lies
angst and pain
This quagmire of broken dreams
Is taking me in
one more time

I’m losing my footing
And sinking in
Somebody throw a twine
A twisted rope of dreams
A wish to clutch onto
A hope too divine

Hold my hand
Pull me out
Before it takes
me completely in
and devours
my life
so sublime.

  1. When those around you cannot be trusted and you never know which is the truth and which is the lie it must be tormenting as well as stressful. Walking away from that situation is sometimes easier said than done, but often that does become the only choice 🙂
