Oasis

I love you without knowing how, or when,
or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without
complexities or pride
so I love you because I know no other way than this
where I does not exist, nor you
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.

It’s dripping slowly
drop by drop
I’m losing this
elixir of love
bit by bit

It’s fleeting
by every passing
moment
disguised
as a vapor

I’m holding
a sieved heart
with a million of
holes
losing the effervescence
I once had

My throat is parched
my soul is bone dry
I can scrape myself
for eternity
to birth a tear to cry

The warm droplets
has frozen in time
my frigid self
is a bare
outline

As I’m reduced
to my bony self
and begs
for my puny
existence

There is an oasis
forming somewhere
with my love
I have given.

  1. Like seeds in the ground that may have gone dormant, even, eventually, the love we sow, will blossom. Really love the sentiment and how you create such atmosphere.

      1. Great poetry deserves close reading. I often have to restrain myself from writing essays 🙂 You are kindly welcome!
