We die. That may be the meaning of life. But we do language. That may be the measure of our lives.” – Toni Morrison
August 23 always seems to be a date for one of a personal milestone for me as it represents the anniversary of my blog. A day always so special in its own way. The day which represents the acknowledgment of an artist in me. The day which validated my writing talent in its own little way. It seems surreal to realize this since the last two years my 300+ poems have been part of the 100 online literary journals and around 20+ print publications. I have been lovingly asked to be a writing contributor for five esteemed poetry journals and a contributing poetry editor. To have been given the chance to perform poetry readings in the events sponsored by the Department of Cultural Affairs and NJ Arts Council.
The immense love and continued encouragement of this blogging community have given me the strength to take part in local and national level competitions and I have fared decently. Two-time NJ state-level winner and One-time National level finalist.
I have met across so many special people through this platform and the list continues to grow by every passing day. A gift that keeps on giving.
So I just want to share this happiness with all my followers and readers who take their precious time out of their busy lives and share their thoughts with me on my blog.
Thanks a million from the bottom of my heart.
Looking forward to challenging myself more in the coming years.
