Every time,
I kick down
my emotion and tear myself apart
to come out of this biting pain
that shatters my heart

Every time,
I scrape and pick my scabs
to kill that phantasmic pain
It comes alive a bit more,
a little more insane

Every time,
I feel that something
has gone numb inside me
and if I would
scrape,
groan,
And crack this cocoon
I’ll find a new me

Every time,
I peel off
and shed off my skin
with blisters and welts
to be born as a nubile
I heart the lesson
taught by my dear life

Every time
I rip
and shred the facades
and the masks I wore
I fervently fail to
forget the stories of yore

Every time
I take in a new identity
leaving my last painful one
I realized with deep agony
I’m just the next Russian doll
popping out of that damn box.
