Sun on my neck speaks of its warm presence
and lift the veil of the darkness
like that cup of that warm leftover milk
curdled like my thoughts
sitting and getting consummated by the fall of the day
and soon the night will come bearing the
shadows of the doubts
the moon will scoop the fallen light
in this palms and smear across his face
as he always does every night
reflecting beauty in the borrowed light
the silence into soliloquy with night
will speak in a thousand unborn tongues
and I sit here tight-lipped
tongue shredded between the teeth
thinking of the
string of words
lodged in my throat
to bring an end
to this deep silence
lurking between you and me.

I’m a mother of a smart and energetic seven-year-old. I started expressing myself creatively since the last two years. Since then I have been continuously inspired by events in my life and around me which has helped me in penning my thoughts.
I’m an avid reader, loves to sing, an ardent lover of poetry and sometimes can scribble few lines too. Loves to dance in the rain, have an undying love for nature, can watch the beautiful sunset for hours. Love to kiss and hug my loved ones.
I have worked in the IT field for almost a decade as a manager, worked crazy hours and traveled around the world. In that busy schedule, I never got the time to creatively express my thoughts. Now every time I finish a poem, free verse anything it fills me with so much happiness and excitement and a feeling to have created something of my own. I’m planning to post at least one creation of mine weekly.
Lastly, a million thanks to all who visit, like or follow my tiny bits of creation.
Every time you do that, I get to know one more beautiful person in my life and get the chance to see their creation too.

Perfectly captured by your words the awkwardness, expressions, thoughts and even antics in what it takes in the process of starting a conversation. Outstanding 🙏

This poem was great!!! It reminds me of how shy I was back then. It was really hard for me to make friends back then because I got made fun when I was a kid. Once I got older, I had more confidence in myself and I made friends wherever I went. Of course, sometimes I moved from place to place, all my friendships still last to this day. Thank you for your post.

You too, Sweetie.
Did you get hit with those wicke storms last night? 🌪We had tornado warnings here twice throughout the evening. It was quite unnerving.

Oh, during the day it was lovely… This storm hit late last night.
then again, you were probably sound asleep like normal people. My insomnia allows me to enjoy these things by myself. LOL! 🤣
