Calling

christopher-campbell-30253

When you hear that calling
the eternal song
the ethereal verse
to which your soul
dance, swirls, and rolls
which will take the ashen soul
and all the broken truth
will cleanse in the gentle
moonlight
and put sparkles of the stars
to give you that everlasting sheen

Every pore of your being
is imbued with the love
which glows
like a fire in the belly
of the firefly
and every breath you take
spreads the musk
intoxicating the every
grain in the air

It uplifts you and float you away
in the sweet remembrance
of those frolicky memories
which entwined
you past and present
and made your life
a divine rhapsody.

Will you turn away
cut your ears
and will turn deaf to
the eternal call
with a crestfallen soul
soulless eyes
or
Will you reach out
with your bony fingers
clutching and grasping  the
last moment of truth
which gives your
a pitiful existence
a meaning

What will you do when you
will hear
that divine rhapsody,
that final call?

  1. Definitely a thought provoking piece. You’ve given voice to what many of us think about at some point. These lines spoke most to me:

    Will you reach out
    with your bony fingers
    clutching and grasping the
    last moment of truth
    which gives your
    a pitiful existence
    a meaning

How many of us have and will reach for such truth…
