“Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.”
As I grow old or rather mature with each passing year I strongly feel that all the incidents, big or small, happening in the world around us changes us a little bit.
We keep changing from the person we were born as.
Every little joy, happiness, anger, frustration, failure, success, achievements mold us in good or a bad way.
They say you don’t know what you have become but I say deep inside every one of us know what are we transforming into slowly by every passing day.
We have this profound understanding of the fact that if we are becoming kinder or more selfish by every passing day of the year.
The memories that we collect in form of pictures, videos, scrapbooks, all forms of social media etc are a constant reminder of the person we used to be. We all have a timeline deeply etched in our minds.
If we are changing for good we encourage that change and if the experience our life offers, is making us bitter then we keep missing our old self.
My point is nobody changes in a day or without the knowledge of happening inside them.
That’s’ what we call introspection if we just listen carefully to ourselves even for few minutes a day and take a stock take of what is happening to us and make sure that we are not going down the drain and keep a tight leash on our bad traits and desires.
We can strive to be a better person by each passing day. The benchmark doesn’t have to be set by the society but by yourself. The small baby steps you can take to reach your goal. It’s not a long process but a deep process. It needs a bit of soul-searching which we all do but few of us acknowledge.
Give your self some time… give your soul some time. If you let it talk to you
it will give you such an insight and it will become your best friend, guide, and philosopher only if you lend your heart few minutes a day.
Let your soul speak to you.
Let it do the talking.
Let it lead the process of change.
Let it reconnect with the essence of your being.
