A reflection in the mirror
A ragged appearance
carved and sketched by the
hammers of time
cracks in her face
those freckles
stands the test of passing time
lines on her forehead
and the crow’s-feet
on the edges
are storing the time,
so sublime
the face she sees but
doesn’t recognize
she appears to be more bright
in her memories
she gathers hurt and the pain
in those wrinkles
but they seem to
have festered
angst
she was hiding behind
age seems to be fleeting
her youth flailing behind
sometimes she gets startled
by her own reflection
unacquainted by the
stranger in the mirror
Oh! the pain and hurt
she has absorbed
all those years in her folds
can only seem to
tell the story
of her life being so unkind.

I’m a mother of a smart and energetic seven-year-old. I started expressing myself creatively since the last two years. Since then I have been continuously inspired by events in my life and around me which has helped me in penning my thoughts.
I’m an avid reader, loves to sing, an ardent lover of poetry and sometimes can scribble few lines too. Loves to dance in the rain, have an undying love for nature, can watch the beautiful sunset for hours. Love to kiss and hug my loved ones.
I have worked in the IT field for almost a decade as a manager, worked crazy hours and traveled around the world. In that busy schedule, I never got the time to creatively express my thoughts. Now every time I finish a poem, free verse anything it fills me with so much happiness and excitement and a feeling to have created something of my own. I’m planning to post at least one creation of mine weekly.
Lastly, a million thanks to all who visit, like or follow my tiny bits of creation.
Every time you do that, I get to know one more beautiful person in my life and get the chance to see their creation too.

This one screams of pain. It is such a tormenting time when one fails to recognize oneself in the mirror. A very touching piece of poetry Megha!

I would really want to see the process of making one of your poems. It must be a real piece of task to be done in such short time.

There us nothing special about it. I just write what comes to heart.Justvlike any writer

Hmmm, what are you hiding. TELL ME! 😀 It is too convenient for ‘what comes to heart’. Hmmm, interesting. 😀 I am clearly joking. I just can’t figure it out because it all falls together so perfectly. 😀 Now I wish I was a poet Commander. 😀

haha..You are really funny ..so I always write whenever the inspiration strikes so sometime I write and save and then post later depending on the prompt. But the process is always the same, what comes to heart. I hope I answered your question well, Commander.

I am just poking fun into you because some of your poems get dark. 😀 Hope you don’t mind this teasing, because if you do, I can enter turbo mode and you’ll be sorry. 😀

Yes exactly, now when we analyse our decision made in the past it feels like it has been made by a completely different person.
