“Two there are, who are never satisfied; The lover of the world and the lover of Knowledge.”
― Rumi
Dance
That dazzling hummingbird
slowly buzzing
and flapping its wings
a thousand time in a blink of an eye
staying suspended in the air
defying the laws of nature
to get just the drop of that elixer
that nectar
which will justify its existence
gives meaning to its
flight of beauty
that dance of the desire and the fulfillment
the beauty and nature
the union of the
that eternal thirst and the
parched soul
the persistent hovering at the
hollyhocks
and the daylilies
giving a strong competition to those
adamant bees
shining those iridescent wings
with that shine and shimmering
It sucks, sip and
drink the nectar
which gives her the sustenance
to weave that beautiful dance
in nature forever.

And weave she does, words into hovering lines that make her readers sway to the rhythm of her ink-flow. May your wings never cease to flap.

We have two hummingbird feeders, one in our Gnome Garden and one in our Faerie Ring. We can look out our kitchen window and watch their flights of fancy. ☺

In the Datil Mountains of New Mexico, I hung over a dozen feeders on two porches, spanning the driveway. hummingbirds came by the dozens. The trick was to place the feeders in such a way that the most aggressive birds were forced to guard more feeders than they were able to. Too close together, and only one bird would feed. Such “lovers of the world” they are.
