Watermark

This poem is a continuation of the micro poetry. Read Branded.

“Where there is ruin, there is hope for a treasure.”

They say
you left and I kept living
like nothing ever happened
Oh I’m so
emotionless,
frozen,
numb
to the core
and nothing
can ever move me for sure
nothing can falter me anymore
They say
I’m callous,
frigid
stand the test of time
and don’t repent
my lost love
a heartless serpentine
They detest me
for being
coldhearted,
a witch,
a bitch
they say
You snatch away the hearts of the
careless lovers
and leaves them to rot
in the back alleys,
anyways
They say I cannot be trusted
with their precious hearts
as I don’t
weep,
mourn,
wail
the loss
of my precious heart
nothing seems to break me
or can break me as a whole
Oh! though I don’t have
the welts,
blisters,
or the scarred pieces
of my heart
to show
but they so easily miss the watermark
you have left on my fragile soul.

  1. A fantastic extension of your Branded. No one really knows what love leaves behind. Love the honesty and the raw nature of this piece.
