Tired

There are days when you are filled to the brim and have a zealous attitude towards life.Nothing seems to bring you down and you are willing to face any hurdle in your life head-on. And then there are days when everything seems to be sluggish and meaningless.Nothing lifts your kindred spirit and everything feels dull and seems everything around you seems to be losing color. You feel tired to the core and the day seems to be never-ending.The following poem encompasses that feeling.Let me know how you feel.

I'm dragging my feet
lugging myself every day
I'm carrying the
weight of the world
on my shoulder
and nobody seems
to notice it anyway

In this unending journey
my feet begin to give up
my legs are trembling
I'm gasping for air
with a raspy breath
everything is just melting away

I'm carrying the
weight of the world
on my shoulder
and nobody seems
to notice it anyway

My hands have a thousand cuts
thousand cuts in the soul
as I'm dragged along
burned out to the core
I' don't want to let go
I don't want to be left alone
I'm holding too strong
blades of the reality digging in

I'm carrying the
weight of the world
on my shoulder
and nobody seems
to notice it anyway

My eyelids are getting heavier
and treacherous sleep
is making its way
I could barely see through all this fog
the reality seems
to be slipping away

I'm carrying the
weight of the world
on my shoulder
and nobody
seems to notice it anyway

My foot is seeded with blisters
and my skin is too ragged
the splinters are digging in
deep into my skin
I'm on my last breath
death is making its way

I'm carrying the
weight of the world
on my shoulder
and nobody
seems to notice it anyway

My constant struggle with pain
and languor
is slowing me down
I keep struggling with
the demons of my past
and future seems to be dwindling down

I'm carrying the
weight of the world
on my shoulder
and nobody
seems to notice it anyway.

  1. I really do admire the writing style and the language used in this piece :’).
On a side note, you’re feeling alright, aren’t you?
If there’s anything you want to vent or get a load off your chest, I’d always be happy to listen.
Sending best wishes your way ❤❤

  2. Luckily I was fairly upbeat when I started to read …. but then, I felt a sudden heaviness and now my spirit is sagging. It might be the after dinner coma or more likely the fact that I have been suggested to your fine writing, dear one. How lovely that we bounce back … with a day or two 🙂

  3. I suffer from chronic back and knee pain due to degenerative back discs, scoliosis, and osteoarthritis in my knees. Pain medications help but they Make me tired and deplete my energy. This part of your poem hits home to all who suffer from chronic pain:
” My constant struggle with pain and languor is slowing me down I keep struggling with the demons of my past and future seems to be dwindling down”
