Left

How much is the plight of a person being left out in a relationship?
How deeply it scrapes our heart when the person you entrusted the most betrays you and leaves you when you needed them the most.Being left alone and not cared too much by the people around you, who weave your web of life, is heart-wrenching.

I really wonder why I'm left behind

why I'm not dragged along

like the rest

Why nobody turned back to see

when I stumbled

why nobody cared enough

Why everybody kept walking

with their backs turned towards me

why nobody saw my footsteps

when it stopped making the prints

next to the walking society

Why the dust trail of the wheels

kept rolling along my side

people looked, glanced and left

and nobody gave hands to help

or even to try

I wonder why I'm left behind

with the whole caravan passing by

I started with them as big family

and now I'm becoming

a load, too heavy to try

My feet are wounded

and my soul is tired

my voice is weak

my gut wrenching pain

is too hard to bear

nothing seems to quench my thirst

while I'm choked on tears

I wonder why I'm left behind

I'm taking my last few breaths

all I'm left with

are my tears rolling down in dust

I wonder why I'm left behind

why I'm not dragged along

by the mere people

I trust.
